Registered Psychologist Michael Jimenez talked about Mental Health among administration and employees of the Department of Social Work and Development MIMAROPA Assembly. He discussed about the need to address the mental health of people aligned with its role as mandated by law to develop, administer a
nd implement comprehensive social welfare programs designed to uplift the living conditions and empower the disadvantaged children, youth, women, older persons, person with disabilities, families in crisis or at-risk and communities needing assistance. (DSWD AO No. 16, Series of 2011)
Jimenez expressed that in 2018 the WHO Director-General identified mental health for accelerated implementation within WHO’s work. This WHO Special Initiative seeks to ensure universal health coverage involving access to quality and affordable care for mental health conditions in 12 countries to 100 million more people.
